Terms of Service

Last updated: April 7, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Agent Shelf (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Agent Shelf is a registry for AI agent definitions. Users can publish, discover, download, and share agent definitions in markdown format. The Service also provides an MCP server for programmatic access and a publish skill for AI coding tools.

3. Accounts

You authenticate via GitHub OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account on Agent Shelf.

4. User Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of the agent definitions you publish. By publishing an agent as public, you grant Agent Shelf a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute the content through the registry, API, and MCP server.

Licensing

You may specify a license for your agent definitions using the license field in the YAML frontmatter. If no license is specified, your content is published under your copyright with no additional rights granted to other users beyond viewing and downloading.

Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you publish. You represent that you have the right to publish the content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Publish malicious agent definitions designed to harm systems or users
  • Publish content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Abuse the API or MCP server with excessive or automated requests intended to disrupt the Service
  • Impersonate other users or misrepresent authorship of agents
  • Publish spam, misleading descriptions, or deceptive content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or private agents

6. Versioning & Immutability

Each published version of an agent is stored as an immutable snapshot. You cannot modify a published version — you must publish a new version with a bumped version number. You can delete an agent entirely, which removes all versions.

7. Reporting & Moderation

Users can report agents that violate these terms. We reserve the right to remove any content or suspend any account that violates these Terms of Service, at our sole discretion.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or quality of agent definitions published by users. Use of any agent definition downloaded from the registry is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Agent Shelf shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service or any agent definitions obtained through it.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
